Final Typeface
In high-school, I took part in UCLA's Design Media Arts Summer Institute. One of the classes in this program was Typography. Our first project was to design original typefaces using grids of different shapes. We were given square, circle, and triangle grids and had five minutes to make any letters we could come up with using each grid. I created the first few Gatsby 3000 letters on the triangle grid and choose them as inspiration for my typeface. I named the typeface Gatsby 3000 because I thought the letters had a strong art-deco style, with a hint of a sci-fi feel.
At the showcase at the end of the program, my typeface was given an award.
