For my Video Studio at UCLA, our first assignment was to recreate 15-30 seconds of a music video. The assignment was meant to teach us about organizing shoots, filming, color correction, and editing without worrying about the subject of our video. I choose to recreate the first 30 seconds of Fazerdaze's "Lucky Girl" music video. Within these first 30 seconds, there are 14 different shots and 24 cuts.
I chose this video because I wanted to try to capture many different types of shots and practice editing rapid cuts. I loved the summer and home-video themes of the original video but felt I could make the video more vibrant and uplifting in my shots and color correction.
Shot Comparisons
The images above compare some shots from my video to the original.
The top shots are mine, and the bottom are the original.
Special thanks to this video's actress, Paulyne Youri!
